This comprehensive guide will walk you through the essential concepts and practical steps needed to master this topic. By the end of this article, you'll have a solid understanding of the key principles and be ready to implement them in your workflow.
Finder is Oppora's prospecting search engine — the front door to every list, workflow, and campaign. It answers the very first question of outbound: who should I sell to? Finder searches a company database of 60M+ companies and a lead database of 1B+ people, and it comes in two forms that share the same data:
Both are reachable from the sidebar under Finder → Company and Finder → People, and both let you search two ways: describe what you want in plain language (AI Search) or set the criteria yourself (Manual Filters).

Finder → Company — describe your ideal companies in plain language, or start from ICP-based suggestions.
Finder → Company: AI Search with ICP-based suggestions, recent searches, and saved searches.
Remember: Finder only finds and lists prospects — it never contacts anyone. To reach the people you find, save them to a list and build a campaign. Nothing is sent from Finder.
The two search modes reach the same database and produce the same kind of results. The only difference is how you tell Oppora what you want.
Type a sentence like "B2B SaaS companies in Western Europe with 501–1000 employees" and Oppora maps your description onto the underlying filters for you. You can refine with follow-up messages in the same search, like a conversation, and Oppora also suggests searches based on your Ideal Customer Profile.
Under the hood, AI Search simply fills in the Manual Filters for you based on your prompt. That means anything AI Search can do, Manual Filters can do too — you just set the values yourself.
Open Manual Filters for precise, hands-on control. For companies you get filters such as company name, industry, keywords, company type, acquisition status, year founded, domain, location (city/state, HQ country), and employee count. For people you get job title, company name, industry, department, seniority, person location, employee count, years of experience, skills, recently-changed-jobs, and company HQ. Set your filters and click Apply Filters to see results.

Finder → Company Manual Filters — company info, location, and size & growth filter groups.
Manual Filters give precise control over every targeting criterion; AI Search sets these same fields from your prompt.
Cost note: The one billing difference: AI Search costs 1 AI credit per search (because Ora interprets your prompt); Manual Filters cost no AI credit. Both then charge data credits only for the results you actually view — see 2.6.
Use Company Finder to build a target account list.
Every company you find through Finder already carries its firmographic data — employee count, industry, website, and LinkedIn link. You do not need to run Company Enrichment on them. Enrichment is only for companies that arrive without this data, such as companies imported from your own CSV, or jobs pulled in with the Chrome extension from LinkedIn, Glassdoor, SimplyHired, or Indeed.
Tip: Recent and Saved searches are kept for you at the bottom of the Finder page. Re-open a Saved search anytime to continue where you left off — handy for repeatable prospecting motions.
Use People Finder to find the decision-makers to contact. Search by job title, location, country, department, management level, years of experience, and more — in AI Search or Manual Filters.
Find People Filter — Job Title, Location, Department, Management Levels, Max People per Company, and Fallback filter sets.
The People Finder filter: primary criteria, per-company caps, fallback filter sets, and selectable data sources.
Two options make People Finder especially powerful for account-based prospecting:
People Finder lets you choose how hard to look, and each level has its own per-person cost:
Data source | What it searches | Cost |
Standard Search | Multiple verified databases (included by default) | 1 credit / person |
Premium Real-time Search | Extended professional network data | 3 credits / person |
Deep Search | Web-wide intelligent search | 5 credits / person |
Pick one source per search. The filter shows an Estimated Credits summary and your current balance before you run it, so there are no surprises.
Finder is where you discover prospects; a list is where they live so you can act on them. Saving is always a deliberate step — results are not auto-saved.
Select the companies or people you want and add them to a new or existing list. Lists track their companies, people, jobs, and verified emails, and they feed both campaigns and workflows. (See Section 3 — Lists.)
Before you can email a lead, it needs a verified email address — campaigns cannot send to a lead without one. Inside a list you can:
Verify Emails dialog — credits to deduct, current balance, and Standard vs. Advance verification modes.
Enrichment actions preview the exact credits to deduct before running, and process leads until credits run out.
From a saved company list you can run Find People to pull contacts at those accounts. This is the list-level version of People Finder, with the advanced options above (job-title targeting, per-company caps, fallback sets). Because of those advanced options it is priced per lead (1 data credit each on Standard), unlike a Finder search which is priced per 100 results. See 2.6 for the full breakdown.
Both Finder and list views offer Export (CSV) so you can take your results elsewhere when needed.
Finder touches two things you should understand before you search at scale: credits (what each action costs) and the daily search limit (how many searches your plan allows). They are completely separate — the daily limit is a count of searches and never deducts any credit.
Action | Cost |
AI Search (Company or People) — interpreting your prompt | 1 AI credit per search |
Results shown in Finder (Company or People) | 1 data credit per 100 results |
Manual Filters search | No AI credit (data credits still apply per 100 results) |
Find People from a list — Standard | 1 data credit per lead |
Find People from a list — Premium Real-time | 3 data credits per lead |
Find People from a list — Deep | 5 data credits per lead |
Find Email | 1 data credit |
Verify Email | 1 data credit (only if not verified in last 30 days) |
Company Enrich | 1 data credit |
Find Phone | 1 phone credit |
Why the two People prices differ: a People Finder search is billed per 100 results (1 data credit each 100), the same as company search. Find People from a list is billed per lead because it unlocks the advanced options — job-title targeting, per-company caps, and fallback filter sets — that a plain Finder search doesn't have.
Each plan caps how many Finder searches you can run per day. This cap is a separate limit — hitting it doesn't cost credits, and running a search doesn't reduce the cap for anything except searches.
Plan | Searches per day |
Free | 10 / day |
Pro | 100 / day |
Max | 200 / day |
Credit-saving habit: Filter before you enrich. Search is cheap; enrichment adds up per lead. Narrow to leads that match your ICP and passed lead scoring, then Find Email only for those — you'll stretch data credits much further.
