Email spam word checker

Paste your email copy to highlight spam trigger words and formatting that can push it out of the inbox.

Free, no signup. Runs in your browser, nothing is sent to a server.

How spam filters read your email copy

This checker flags the wording and formatting that spam filters and wary readers react to. Treat it as an editing aid, since copy is only one of the signals a filter weighs.

Words are a small signal

Filters look at who sent the email, whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass, how earlier recipients reacted, and only then at the message itself. Copy matters most when a new domain or a cold list gives the filter little else to judge.

Rule-based filters such as SpamAssassin still add points for phrases like "100% free" and for text in capitals, so it pays to avoid the obvious ones.

How to read the results

Highlighted phrases are grouped by why they look like spam: urgency, money, over-promise, phishing-style wording and pushy sales lines.

One highlight inside a normal sentence is rarely a problem. A cluster of them, plus capitals, several links and exclamation marks, reads like a promotion to people and filters alike.

Fixes that help

Write like one person to another: plain text, one link at most, and no attachments or images in a first email. Swap claims for specifics, so "cut onboarding from 3 weeks to 4 days" replaces "revolutionary results".

Then check the technical side. A clean email from a domain that fails authentication or sits on a blacklist can still land in spam.

Spam Word Checker FAQ

What are spam trigger words?

They are words and phrases that appear often in spam, such as "act now", "100% free" or "you've been selected". Filters and readers link them with promotions and scams, so several in one email add risk.

Will one spam word send my email to spam?

No. Modern filters weigh sender reputation, authentication and how recipients react far more than single words. Many trigger words, capitals and links together can still tip a borderline email into spam.

Is it OK to use the word "free" in a cold email?

Usually, in a plain sentence. "Are you free on Tuesday?" is harmless, while "FREE trial!!!" is the pattern filters and readers flag. This checker highlights every use so you can judge the context.

How many links should a cold email have?

One at most, and many senders use none in the first email. Every link is something a filter checks, and a link shortener hides the destination, which looks suspicious. Use the full link on your own domain.

Why does my email go to spam when the copy is clean?

The cause is usually the sender, not the words. Check that SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass, that your domain is not on a blacklist, and that few people mark you as spam. Google asks senders to keep that rate below 0.1% and never reach 0.3%.

Does this tool store or send my email?

No. The check runs in your browser, and nothing you paste is sent to Oppora or saved.
